Spring Semester || Senior Year ✅? The most challenging semester yet thus far. But I can’t dismiss the quality in professors who’ve mentored, encouraged, and enlightened me these last 14 weeks. I’m also grateful to have met and worked with incredibly talented team mates. Ori Tahiti // Polynesian Dance is different in Florida than how I was taught in Southern California. But still fulfilling to meet, work, and perform with some rad and beautiful Polynesian Entertainers. And of course, throughout all seasons of life, I’m grateful to be back in the foundation of all that I do—the temple. Last year, in one of my classes, I learned how to consecrate my efforts in all areas of my life—and no matter how tough this life gets, that goal will never change.

Father’s Day was such a tense holiday when your father was an insanely strict man from the Pacific Islands. ?? You can’t be tender, must always wake up early, never miss church, clean the house, take care of your school, respect your elders, and *never* do no wrong—because those savages had no remorse ??❤️? Meanwhile, for this little girl, it’s a different generation and upbringing. I won’t ever expect perfection, but only a tenacious man in remembering his role in the home as her dad. And he does that for her. Thank you for always showing her how much you love her in not only taking care of her or buying things for her—but loving her enough to demonstrate how she should be treated, while in return teaching her by example the morals and principles she should ALSO inherit in how she treats others. Always remember how much these little, innocent, and pure spirits look to you—give them something great to imitate through your words AND actions. Happy Father’s Day!

It didn’t take much to make me happy or content as a child. And maybe that debt is owed to my mom, even when I know it must’ve been difficult for her. I loved when she would remember to say goodbye to me before she left for work. How she would still somehow be happy to see us when we’d wait for her to come home. How she was patient when I literally believed she knew every answer to every question I thought of. But most of all, I admire how she gave us her best with what she knew how—even despite of how challenging it was. The first two women in my life who served as a mother/mother figure to us were her and my [late] grandma. And they left behind many great memories for us to reminisce on. My mission for my daughter is that she’ll grow to never question her bond or safety with me. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, mother figures, the builders, and nurturers. Thank you for all that you are and all that you continue to be in raising our next generation. ??

Most of you on here—I’ve grown up dancing with, so it’s no secret of how Cultural Arts/Polynesian Dance has played a part in our lives together, and seeing you all do so many great things with dance is always fulfilling to watch. This is the only “double life” you’ll ever see me live— Dance has always kept me whole and allowed me to be lost in the songs of the South Pacific to share with others. I have always been proud to come from the Polynesian islands, and it makes me so happy to meet so many great people who enjoy it too and share their memories. As always, work hard, stay humble, and have joy.
