Hi, I’m Samantha—a fire performer and costume designer. Last year at Burning Man, I poured my heart into creating and repairing costumes for a performance that meant the world to me. It was an incredible experience that taught me so much, but because of limited volunteers to help me with costumes, I couldn’t perform in the show myself. This year, I’m determined to bring my vision to life—not just through costumes, but by stepping on stage as part of the performance. My dream is to perform in a giant clamshell, creating magic with fire bubbles. The clamshell isn’t just a prop—it’s deeply personal. Before moving to LA, I was inspired by the film ‘Knight of Cups,’ where a man searches for his pearl. That story gave me such a sense of meaning—I’ve always seen myself as a pearl: unique, valuable, and deserving of being seen. This performance represents that belief for me, and getting to share it at Burning Man would mean everything.
