Rooted in Cyber Feminism and informed by Cyborg theory, kink culture, fashion, and artificial intelligence, @eleni__christodoulou.art creates works that are both visually striking and conceptually layered. Her works often incorporate faux-perspective and linear distortion, borrowing from the visual logic of video games to destabilize the viewer’s sense of space and subjectivity. @eleni__christodoulou.art creates fabric-based sculptures using soft, insulating materials like felt and polyester filling. These tactile forms speak to themes of bodily vulnerability, protection, and exposure—engaging with non-normative desire and the shifting boundaries of intimacy. I. #AlexandraChristou (1950–2009) was a self-taught artist whose distinctive visual language remained largely under the radar during her lifetime. Working across painting, #AlexandraChristou developed a deeply personal and expressive style. Her evocative portraits draw upon the textures of everyday life, weaving together myth, ritual, and personal narrative. #AlexandraChristou ’s protagonists—men in cafés, beggars, sex workers—emerge as everyday heroes in surreal, dreamlike scenes that blur the line between fact and fiction. With self-referential gestures and symbolic imagery, her work speaks to themes of marginality, resilience, and inner life. Public Secrets, curated by @milovanfarronato @the_breeder_gallery brings together key works by #AlexandraChristou showcasing her vivid and deeply intimate portraits, painted primarily in oil on canvas during the early 1990s through the late 1990s. Her compositions capture domestic intimacy and everyday social settings with striking emotional depth. Each canvas stands as a visual diary—emotional, narrative-driven, and charged with private meaning—while also evoking broader social and cultural textures from the late 20th-century Greek landscape. Despite limited exposure during her career, #AlexandraChristou has left behind a quietly powerful legacy that continues to resonate.

“I see my paintings as an intimate record of emotions, experiences, and identity, balancing on the edge of transience and the need for grounding. I explore nomadism—both physical and emotional—as a way to cope with difficult feelings and the past. New places and relationships become substitutes for home, unleashing euphoria, curiosity and a sense of truly living. In these moments, I rediscover myself in new contexts. Temporality gives me freedom but also awakens a longing for stability and authentic closeness. It is a paradox—each change is both an escape and an attempt to create something lasting. My characters are polished, colorful, and seemingly happy. They play roles in new settings, becoming a kind of mask. In their theatrical eyes, one can see hidden pain and irony. Just as in real life, a change of context allows them to explore and experience while obscuring a reality that is difficult to accept. I juxtapose this theatricality with the harshness of everyday life—depression, loneliness, addictions—painting a colorful world where everything seemingly works as expected. The dogs I often portray are both metaphors and my mirror. Their wildness, fearfulness, and barking remind me of my own struggle with societal norms. I am also inspired by Donna Haraway's concept of the human-dog bond, which is sincere and authentic, often closer than human relationships. By painting dogs, I tell a story of our shared struggle with the expectations of the human community.” - Olma @o__l__m__a Battle gossips, 2025, acrylics on canvas, 110 x 140 cm II @o__l__m__a August in Athens, 2023, acrylic on canvas, 140 x 200 cm @o__l__m__a PUBLIC SECRETS curated by @milovanfarronato @the_breeder_gallery June 21- August 30, 2025
