Kyra Smolkin started @villafrancescahome as a creative outlet. “While decorating my own home in LA, I kept dreaming up prints and patterns I couldn’t find. One day, I finally sat down and started sketching.” Kyra had worked for small brands before—but this time, it was her name on the label. “My biggest goal was to turn my ideas into something real. I’m always building moodboards and finding inspiration, so seeing those ideas take shape has been incredibly rewarding.” The brand launched with a collection of playful, patterned throw pillows—all designed and made in LA. But more than that, Villa Francesca is about making a space feel personal. “I believe it’s the little things that make a house a home. I love helping people create spaces that reflect who they are.” Starting the business wasn’t all creativity, though. “The legal side felt super intimidating at first,” she says. “But once I got going, it wasn’t as complicated as I thought.” With LegalZoom helping her check off the legal logistics—from registering the business to staying compliant—Kyra could focus on what she loved: designing. “I wanted to feel confident and set up before launching. Having everything in place gave me the peace of mind to move forward.” #smallbusinessowner #interiordesign #business #LLC #startingabusiness #losangeles #LegalZoom

They say everything’s bigger in Texas, and that includes the passion behind Little Bloom Pediatric Physical Therapy, founded by Nicole Neer in San Antonio. Nicole started Little Bloom to support kids and families facing challenges that often go unseen: bedwetting, constipation, pelvic pain, and more. “I wanted the freedom to build a practice that worked for my own family while filling a gap in care that truly matters,” she says. What began as a mobile-only service has grown into a hybrid model, combining in-home visits with clinic-based care. “I really struggled to get started. It was overwhelming, and I didn’t want to make a mistake.” As a LegalZoom customer, Nicole relied on support to handle the legal logistics, allowing her to focus on her family, not filings. “Once I realized there was a need in my community, the next step felt obvious: form a business. The hardest part? Picking the name.” Today, Little Bloom continues to help children and families across the San Antonio area, growing with the same heart it started with. #smallbusinessowner #smallbusiness #physicaltherapy #business #startingabusiness #LittleBloom #LegalZoom

Robin Eurgubian, a LegalZoom customer, didn’t just start a business. She built a space where students could be seen, heard, and confident in who they are. She founded @collegenarrative after years as a school counselor, helping teens write their college essays. She realized her advice was doing more than getting them into school—it was helping them grow. “Many professionals in helping fields don’t realize they can turn their expertise into a business,” she says. “But I believed it was possible to do both.” College Narrative now gives students one-on-one support to find their voice and take charge of their story. “My biggest motivator was being my own boss. Having the freedom to run my day, make my own choices, and lead my own campaigns—that’s what makes me proud,” she says. “The extra income is nice. But the real win is being the owner of my creative process.” She used LegalZoom to form her business—fast, clearly, and without stress. Today, Robin works with students across the country. She’s helping them believe in their future—one essay at a time. #business #smallbusinessowner #CollegeNarrative #LegalZoom

This started in a parking lot. Dominique Tallungan co-owns @josephinespecialempanadas, a family-run business with deep roots and an even deeper purpose. After losing her job in the early 2000s, Dominique’s mom, Josephine, began selling empanadas from the trunk of her car to support her family. At 51, she opened her first storefront in West Covina—and ran it solo for 14 years. In 2021, Dominique and her sister stepped in to carry the business forward. “Her goal has always been to provide for her family,” Dominique says. “She took care of everything on her own so we could go to college and explore our own paths.” But stepping into her mother’s shoes came with new challenges. “I came in optimistic—but I was quickly humbled. There was so much behind-the-scenes work, and I wasn’t sure I could keep up.” With LegalZoom helping her check off the legal logistics—from registering the business to staying compliant—Dominique focused on growing the business and honoring what her mom built. Today, they run two locations under the name their mom made known. “I’ve learned that I’m stronger than I thought. That no matter what, you have to keep pushing. And that this legacy—her legacy—is worth it.” #SmallBusiness #BusinessOwner #LatinaOwned #FamilyBusiness #LegalZoom
