Reporting from the legendary David Gym (If you didn’t visit this gym yet please put in on your schedule when in Zürich, its a bodybuilding heaven) @david_gym_zh_west where I had the pleasure to work with two of the best if not the best bodybuilders from Germany. Tim Budesheim @budesheim_tim one of the hardest working pros on the planet after a long strenuous successful season with 6 shows in the US where he only missed the qualification for the Mr Olympia by hair with a second and third place in Vancouver & Chicago. With his work ethic its just a matter of time till we see Tim on the Olympia stage. Tim is coached by Manuel Bauer @manuelbauer76 . Not far behind is Dennis Reinhold @dennis_reinhold_ifbb_pro who’s equally impressive and one of the most symmetric pros of the IFBB NPC pro league. Dennis is less then 5 weeks out of the NPC legion in Reno. Dennis is coached by the legendary German Dennis Wolf @dennisbigbadwolf . Good luck to you Dennis I believe you will secure the first ticket to the 2025 Olympia. Special thank you to Hans Hadorn @hanshadorn one of the best photographers I ever worked with, thank you Hans for being part of this and I can’t wait to see you and your beautiful wife Ursula at the next Swiss Grand Prix in October. Then a very special thank you to Kathi Fleig who made this all possible with her endless dedication to the sport of fitness and bodybuilding, not only did she build the iconic David Gym with several locations in Zürich but she’s also the heart and soul of the Swiss Grand Prix which is in his 5th year now and is the best bodybuilding show in Switzerland by far .

Congratulations to Jaz @imjvzel & her men and coach Diego @diegowaller . Jaz went through an amazing journey with the highlight winning the overall at last weekends Excalibur @musclecontest in San Diego. Jaz is a rare mix of muscularity grace and beauty which starts to get lost a bit today. Here is how Jaz described it. This weekend was a movie ?where the best possible outcome actually happened . It was a pleasure to work with you guys and the future shines bright for both of you .

Here a few words to the Figure, Wellness, Womens Physique and Bodybuilding category and the 212 as well. Picture 2 Womens figure where serial winner superstar Cydney Gillon had her hands full with Master Olympia champion Jessica Reyes Padilla. @jessica_reyes_padilla Cydney won her 7th title but honestly I had Jessica winning especially from the front . Cydney was maybe a tad better from the back with better glutes, it was Cydney hardest win in years. Picture 3 Wellness where 3 time champion Francielle Mattos beat Isabelle Nunes by 1 point. Like in figure I was wrong again having Isabelle on 1st. Francielle still has the crazier tie in between glutes and hamstrings but Nunes Glutes are longer and her legs clearly bigger (not to big) with a smaller mid section. Picture 3 Womens Physique with one of the all time great rivalries between former champion Sarah Villegas and Miss Olympia of 2022 Natalia Abraham Coelho . Sarah reclaimed her title and won her 3rd Olympia. This one hurts me a bit since I’m a huge fan of Natalia @ifbbpronataliacoelho one of the nicest and best representatives of our sport . From the front Natalia seemed to have everything under control but when turning to the side and back Sarah was just a bit sharper and drier. As much as I love Natalia’s way of promoting bodybuilding I was wondering many times over the year if it could be a bit much especially after competing in spring what is rather unusual for a current champion. Hopefully she can come back and win in 24. Picture 4 Women’s bodybuilding. Andrea Shaw @mzprettymuscle won her 4th Ms Olympia title and will win as many as she wants with her superior mix of beauty , round muscle bellies , proportions and and and . A champion in the mold of the great Lenda Murray @themsolympia and like Natalia also the best possible ambassador for women’s bodybuilding . Picture 5 Men’s 212. A bit of a surprise the upset of former champion Shawn Clarida by Keone Pearson but well deserved . Under super coach Patrick Tuor @ptuor Keone made Extreme improvements and built an almost perfect physique . This could be the start of a long win streak if he stays healthy. What’s your take on these rivalries?

And NEW MR OLYMPIA Derek Lunsford. No big surprise although I had the first and second the other way around . Thought that Hadi won the pre judging and lost the first round tonight but came back better 30 minutes later for the posing presentation to edge out Derek by a hair. Turned out I was wrong but I’m fine with the decision . Derek was superior from the back and also the most improved athlete from last year. Samson improved a lot as well but was sweating to much to place better then third. 4. place for Brandon who came back very improved tonight and fighting off a hard charging Andrew. 6th and 7th a bit controversial Hunter and Krizo also could or should have gone the other way around . 8th was Burton with his best look edging out Regan Grimes by a hair . Regan looked good but was a bit harder in the prejudging what gave the edge to Burton. 10th place for Charles Griffin. Many people saw Hadi winning and attribute Derek’s win to politics but I don’t think Derek’s win will go into the history books as super controversial like some in the past . Great week in Orlando with great victories , almost every class had a great rivalry with the exception of women’s bodybuilding where Andrea Shaw won her 4th title in superior fashion .

What a battle at this years prejudging for the Mr Olympia title with pretty much everybody being in great shape. Nothing is set in stone yet and can change at tomorrow’s finale . From what I saw is that Hadi and Derek are edging out Samson by a thin margin . 4th should be Andrew and 5th is close between Brandon and Hunter . 7th Krizo (would have loved to see a direct comparison next to Hunter) 8-10th is a battle between Regan, Burton , Griffin and Mostafa. 12-14 is between Theo, Presti and Roman Fritz. Here my prediction in a nutshell . 1)Hadi 2)Derek 3)Samson 4)Andrew 5)Brandon 6)Hunter 7)Krizo 8)Regan 9)Burton 10)Mostafa 11)Griffin 12)Presti 13)Theo 14)Fritz .
