Anime expo 2025 ✅ (the final video is hilarious lol) Even though I barely got any sleep, I had such a fun time! nothing beats the wholesome nostalgia and absurdity that is anime expo. I don’t even watch too much anime and yet still have a blast doing it all: the panels, the shows, the artist alley (always great to see and buy great art), and the COSPLAY. It’s good to go full send on being a geek lol That being said, I didn’t do that many panels this time (no vtubers smh) but still enjoyed what I did get to see, from idol groups to the masquerade! I also went to a DJ set and did some and karaoke (and got 3rd wheeled by an L and fanfic) I just did the same cosplays I always do: Porco Rosso, Tatsu (way of the househusband), and Wild Dog (from time crisis II), though i did add “suited porco” to the mix this time— and people still got it! The last day I just had a vague Meiji era fit! A few of my favorite Navy Suit outfits over the many years lol After 10 years of writing about menswear, I finally have an essay (and podcast) on the Navy Suit. It’s not that I don’t like Navy— I do! I still think it should be the first Suit you get (even if you will never wear the pants separately). But it’s more than just a pragmatic basic. I LOVE a Navy Suit, both in DB and SB. But the love is different. It’s not the slouchy, sultry appeal of brown or the masochistic, austere charm of grey. Navy is platonic. And we should celebrate leaning into this type of love! Navy is unique. It’s staid and conservative, being tied to business and formal vibes. It’s the default for a suit, but it’s not restrictive in the slightest. Its depth of color provides both security AND a platform for you to have fun, making a Navy Suit into the perfect partner for expression. Want to mix patterns? Play with colors? Do you wanna go ivy? Maybe wear A merch tee? A jaunty brocade tie? Or hell , add in a western flair with a denim shirt and fedora. A Navy Suit doesn’t overpower any of your choices. It celebrates and elevates them (especially casual choices), bringing them to focus like a humble shadow box, all while retaining an elegant gravitas due to deep hue. So while i might be known for wearing brown suits or separates, i will always have space for my Navy suit. It’s so easy to the point where i forget about it. It just DEFINES what it means to wear a suit. Not to be formal, but to have a sleek gravitas, whether im casual, apparels arts, rugged, western, minimal or maximalist with my colors and patterns. I have and always will love my Navy Suits. It’s the perfect example of a platonic love! Better late than never on this topic!
